4 July – 3 August
stitched and bound 2008, presented by the West Australian Quilters’ Association is the seventh of these biennial exhibitions in which West Australian artists are invited to submit quilts which draw on traditional techniques and interpret materials, methods and themes in exciting and progressive ways. This year’s exhibiting artists are Bernadette Aitken, Ruth de Vos, Michele Eastwood, Cynthia Harvey Baker, Margery Goodall, Cherry Johnston, Stephanie Knudsen, Trish Little, Nichole Lubcke, Wendy Lugg, Peggy Lyon, Marianne Penberthy, Gail Putz, Lisa Repsevicius, Margaret Ruane, Michele Spencer and Emerald Springs.

To complement the stitched and bound exhibition and the Shire of Mundaring’s Truffle Festival the Mundaring Arts Centre’s Community Room is also presenting A Dyeing Art. This exhibition features fungi dyed textiles, educational information and experimental samples by West Australian artists Peggy Buckingham, Julie Clampett, Heather Davis, LeeAnne Davis, Donna Franklin, Lindy Frayne, Liz Odd, Anne Williams and Katrina Syme.

For the duration of the exhibitions, artists and members of the WA Quilters’ Association will be conducting a series of talks, dyeing demonstrations and workshops. See current exhibitions for more information.
